I’m Shatawn Brigham, founder of Brigham Wine Concierge. I am one of a small number of Black certified sommeliers in the state of Michigan and hold the Level II Award in Wines from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, completed through the Napa Valley Wine Academy. My perspective is shaped by both formal wine education and years of hands-on experience.
I believe wine should be approachable, not intimidating. While my expertise spans wine regions, grape varieties, and the craft of winemaking, my greatest passion is helping people experience wine with confidence, curiosity, and enjoyment.
As co-founder of GRNoir Wine & Jazz, the first Black-owned wine and jazz bar in downtown Grand Rapids, I developed a wine program featuring more than 60 selections from around the world, introducing guests to both timeless classics and unexpected discoveries.
Today, through Brigham Wine Concierge, I bring that same thoughtful and intentional approach to every client experience, partnering with individuals, businesses, and organizations to make wine more accessible, more meaningful, and ultimately more enjoyable.
Brigham Wine Concierge is one of several purpose-driven ventures within The Brigham Collective, where each company reflects a different expression of our commitment to helping people flourish. My Master of Education and background in leadership development shape the work I do across the Collective. Brigham Consulting allows me to partner with organizations to strengthen leadership, strategy, and organizational effectiveness.
